2001
Fall marks the beginning of MeisterSinger’s first four product lines.
The one-man show begins: Manfred Brassler divides his week: three days for
visiting the leading watch retailers in Northern Germany, three days for taking
care of administrative work and shipping out watches. In spite of the branch’s
weak economy, MeisterSinger experiences unexpected success.
2002
The initial collection of 12 models starts to expand. The single-hand watch
and the three-handed watch are now available in a smaller 38-mm case.
For the first time, MeisterSinger is exhibitor at the world’s largest watch
fair, BaselWorld. The response is phenomenal and the first distributor begins
his work in Austria. The first sales representative backs up the distribution in
Germany. At the end of the year, 78 watch retailers carry the new brand
MeisterSinger.
2003
MeisterSinger doubles its business volume from 2002. This phenomenal growth
rate continues until 2005, a real challenge. But the balancing act succeeds.
The Limited Edition 1Z (222 pieces) with an enamel dial and a specially
refined Unitas movement is a treat for all watch connoisseurs with a refined
taste.
After the BaselWorld trade fair, John van Steen starts distribution in the
Netherlands. Despite many obstacles in the initial phase, the success in the
following years is extraordinary.
MeisterSinger places the first advertising series in the magazine DER
SPIEGEL.
2004
The classic No 01 is voted watch of the year in the Netherlands. In Germany,
it receives two design prizes and is nominated for the Design Award of the
Federal Republic of Germany (see Awards).
After the BaselWorld trade fair, MeisterSinger receives orders from twelve
countries. The firm’s facilities are no longer sufficient and a move to a bigger
place is inevitable.
2005
The classic single-hand watch is now available with a large pocket watch
movement Unitas 6497. Ranking: Design votes MeisterSinger as one of the 100 best
industrial designers. The consumers’ award Goldene Unruh goes to MeisterSinger’s
No 1, it is awarded 2nd place in the category of watches up to € 500. Midyear
2005, Trend Time starts its MeisterSinger distribution in Switzerland. Even
though Switzerland is the land of watches, it is love at first sight for Swiss
watch connoisseurs.
2006
The name of Meistersinger’s latest creation is called Unomatik. This time,
MeisterSinger has added a power reserve mechanism to their single-hand watch.
Another move to larger facilities is called for. A recently modernized old
warehouse overlooking the waterfront of Münster’s city harbor is the new base.
2007
The automatic version of the single-hand classic (MeisterSinger No 03) is an
instant success. It was followed by the Monograph, the first single-hand watch
with an additional timing function. The first diamond and gold watches sell
particularly well in Asia and the Middle East.
The MeisterSinger No 03 receives the Good Design Award 2007 for its
outstanding design.
Our participation at BaselWorld again results in a record turnover.
2008
For the first time, the now international MeisterSinger team can attend to
our customers at BaselWorld in a much larger exhibition stand. The increased
size of the booth contributes yet to another record turnover. All four novel
products are received very well, particularly the Perigraph: the single-hand
classic with date ring. More distributors are starting their work in France,
Greece, Turkey and Russia.
Germany’s two most important design centers award the highest honors to the
Monograph for outstanding design. This was closely followed by its nomination
for the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.
The Bayreuth Festival campaign, in which tickets to the Wagner opera Die
Meistersinger von Nürnberg were raffled, was a huge success with almost 10.000
people taking part.
2009
We have taken a vow of silence, but we can say this much: the year 2009 will
be full of surprises for all friends of MeisterSinger.
We would like to thank our customers, friends and supporters for their trust.
