Scrypto
Unitas
MeisterSinger is best known for their single hand watches. There is a growing
movement, that appreciates having time shown in its most primal state.
The few three handed watches are rather exotic. Nonetheless, they distinguish
themselves by their clarity and sense of balance.
The double digits, the distinctive needle-thin hand, the slight lens affect of
the convex glass and the case, reminiscent of pocket watches, all add up to a
perfect whole. Through the rear face made of glass, you can watch the Swiss
movement at work.
The Scrypto Unitas has a small second near the 09.
If the first clockwork watch had been invented in the 21st century and not
the 16th, it would surely bear a startling resemblance to modern MeisterSinger
watches. The antique character and a design that concentrates on pure
functionality gives each of the watches a feel that is usually seen only in
handmade one-offs. MeisterSinger watches seek to recreate that feeling in our
own time. While even large companies seek to lend their products individuality
by adding more and more design details, MeisterSinger takes a completely
opposite route. Those who look upon them are most likely to ask "Could it be any
simpler?"
